Design Conference Dashboard

Project overview

This project was developed during a 3-day UX & AI course in Helsinki, where I was challenged to design a high-fidelity dashboard for managing conference bookings. The client was The UXConf a leading design conference that focuses on practical, no-fluff talks, live tool demos, and real insights into UX/UI practices (theuxconf.com).

The goal was to create a dashboard that empowers organisers to track ticket sales, analyse attendee data, and gain insights to support marketing and business decisions.

Project goal

Design a dashboard to manage bookings for The UXConf design conference, enabling organisers to monitor sales, track attendee data, and gain contextual insights into campaign effectiveness.

What I did

Analysed Business Needs: Translated organiser objectives into dashboard requirements, such as tracking total ticket sales, identifying customer locations, and evaluating marketing ROI.

Researched User Goals: Considered the perspective of business owners who need to monitor profitability, manage capacity, and segment customers effectively.

Synthesised Data & Content: Worked with a provided dataset of bookings to determine which metrics would be most valuable for decision-making.

Mapped Dashboard Requirements: Prioritised features such as ticket sales overview, customer location visualisation, referral source tracking, and date-based filtering.

Defined Information Hierarchy: Organised content and KPIs for clarity, ensuring that high-level insights are immediately visible while allowing deeper drill-downs.

Applied UX & AI Principles: Leveraged course learnings to design an experience that balances intuitive navigation with data-driven decision support.

Created High-Fidelity Designs in Figma: Produced polished, interactive visuals to showcase the final dashboard concept.

Outcome

The final result was a high-fidelity Figma prototype of a bookings management dashboard that allows conference organisers to:

  • Instantly view ticket sales and revenue performance

  • Filter bookings by date and location for contextual insights

  • Analyse customer locations to inform marketing and sponsorship decisions

  • Track referral sources to measure campaign success

This solution provided a scalable, intuitive, and user-friendly design that demonstrates how UX and AI principles can be applied to complex data-driven problems.
