My Revision Notes Shop

Project goal

To create clear concise notes digitally helping me to get A* in psychology A Level.

What I did

– Whiteboard strategy with mind map

– Organised key information with Posits on the wall

– Combined Posits and A4 sheets in-depth notes

– Redesigned notes in keynote making them digital

– Opened Etsy shop

Outcome

Due to its popularity at school, I moved on to start an Etsy shop with my PDF notes on both mobile and desktop. But I didn’t get any sales, which might be because there wasn’t enough marketing or publicity. I conducted more research and learnt that students preferred writing their own notes to reading one that had already been created as a technique of revising before exams.

The detail

Whiteboard strategy with mind map

I started making these notes 4 years ago. I used whiteboards because my notes were always visible and not hidden in a book. It’s a great way to revise. I colour-coded my topics to group information and drew diagrams to make it easier to read. The whiteboards helped me a lot but the topics were a bit overwhelming still.

Organised key information with Posits on the wall

Moving to Posits, I grouped subjects and key information using coloured Posits and writing key words in bold. That made it easier to read and helped with active recall. A clear improvement on my notes on whiteboards only.

Combination of Posits and A4 sheets in-depth notes

My final iteration and optimum revision format consisted of combined Posits, and in-depth notes with inline diagrams which led me to A grades.

Redesigned notes in keynote making them digital

Due to the popularity of my revision notes I have decided to make them digital with the view to sell them online.

Opened Etsy shop

My live Etsy shop with my revision notes in downloadable PDFs in both desktop and mobile formats. But I didn’t get any sales, which might be because there wasn’t enough marketing or publicity. I conducted more research and learnt that students preferred writing their own notes to reading one that had already been created as a technique of revising before exams.
